Local Sustainable Initiatives
Sodexo @ Westmont College has teamed with many local companies and distributors in hopes of getting greener products as well as helping those locally.
The Berry Man
All our produce used on campus comes locally from The Berry Man (http://www.theberryman.com/). Our emphasis has been growing purchasing of locally grown produce to support the local community in addition to lowering the carbon footprint.
Jordanos
A locally family owned distribution company has became one of our main suppliers for our food service needs. Ordering from a local company we are reducing the carbon footprint of the trucks not having to travel as far on the highway. In addition Jordano’s has been able to supply us with coffee mugs in order to eliminate paper cups that were previously used in the dining commons, as well as provide us with more bridgeable to go containers.
Ecolab
