Dining Commons

The place to be on campus, "the DC", is open for service seven days a week (during regular school days). From 7:00am until 7:00pm, you can stop by for a quick snack or see what's sizzling at the grill. The DC provides scrumptious all-you-can-eat dining for the Westmont College community as well for a great price. Don't miss our Flash in the Pan series every week at the DC where our chef will be making a tempting dish right before your eyes. Stop by the DC anytime for a hot fresh brewed cup of coffee. The Study

The Study is a great place to jolt in and out during lunch if you're in a hurry and don't have the time to wander through the DC. The Study is open conveniently for late night customers trying to conquer those late night munchies or needing a place to study, relax or meet with friends. Our commitment to your dining experience will be tempted by a fantastic cuisine for a great price. Those late night munchies or needing a place to study, relax or meet with friends. DC Food in The Study

We understand the allure of taking DC food into The Study. However, due to the seating needs of others purchasing lunch there, food from the Dining Commons is not permitted in The Study from 11:00 AM-2:00PM Monday through Friday. At all other times, if you take DC food into The Study, you must return the DC dishes to the DC dishroom. Thank you for your cooperation!

Study Lunch Fax Orders

Did you know you can fax your order to The Study and have it ready when you get there? Sodexho has made a commitment to having your order ready when requested and is backing it up with a guarantee. Make your selection from the daily specials or the regular menu. Orders must be faxed to The Study at least 30 minutes before the requested pick-up. If your order is not ready in 30 minutes, it is half off. Fax your order from any on-campus extension fax line as indicated on the study fax order form. Guarantee applies to parties of less than four (4).

Whatever your event - a breakfast meeting, a faculty luncheon, a retirement party, or a special celebration, you will find that we offer fresh ingredients, creative and elegant presentation, and thoughtful services. Born and raised in Northern California, Kevin O'Dowd grew up in restaurants owned by his grandfather on Market Street in San Francisco. After graduation from the California Culinary Academy in 1988, he left for Europe to apprentice at "The Connaught" in London, and went on to Paris to work at "Fauchon", a world leading gourmet food and specialty company working with Chef J. Pierre. After working in Dijon France at a Jean Pierre Billoux owned restaurant, Kevin returned to the United States working in several premier resturants, and has been working with Sodexho in Santa Barbara for more than a decade.

Born in Washington, Shane attended Westmont College as both a student and track athlete. Earning a degree in political science, Shane has worked with catering for over 5 years and has recently been promoted to office manager.

Born in El Salvador, Jose Leiva relocated to the United States in 1983. Taking advantage of his love of cooking, Jose attended to Los Angeles Trade School and graduated as a certified chef. Jose lives in Oxnard with his wife and 4 boys.

What is Balance Mind Body Soul about? Balance Mind Body Soul, a holistic or integrated approach to wellness and fitness, considers the whole person. Fitness and wellness are a balance of lifestyle choices and events - physical, mental and emotional. It is not about fads or fad diets. It is about maintaining balance in one's life. Balance Mind Body Soul educates, energizes and inspires. We develop messages and offerings with the college-age student in mind.
